Questions & Answers about Limo’s
1. How far in advance should you reserve your limo?
It all depends on the day of the service. On the busiest night you will not find a limo a week or two in advance and be prepared to pay a premium price. This year May 7th is the busiest and April 30th is right behind.
2. What should you know about reserving a limo?
There are probably 220 + limos in the Valley and about 90% are 8 - 10 passenger Lincoln (Town Cars) limos. The other 10% consists of bigger Lincolns, SUVs (Excursion, Navigator, Escalade), H2 & H1 Hummers, Excalibur, mini and full size Limo Buses. All these can hold up to 34 passengers, depending on the limo. Traditionally, proms book at 6 hr minimum and prices will range from standard $50.00 p/h on a slow night for a 6 passenger limo to $250.00 p/h for a Limo Bus on the busiest night. These are I believe the lowest and highest prices one could expect.
3. What is the appropriate tip for the driver?
Most if not all providers will include 15% to 20% gratuity in their price automatically. Ask to make sure. (20% standard)
4. What happens if someone underage is drinking?
If alcohol is found, depending on the provider, the person responsible is sent home or the service is terminated with no refund.
5. What is limo etiquette?
Wait until limo stops and don't rush to the door, let the limo driver treat you like a star.
6. So, you can't get a limo, what's the next best thing other than driving yourself?
You can hire a chauffeured driving service that has the Lincoln Town Cars and split the cost between 2 couples. The service is less expensive per hour and may be more available. Generally do not shop around "for ever" trying to get the best price (quality has some price) and above all see the limo you are getting before you get it (if you can) and get all in writing.
