PROM PLANNER
Most PROMs start in April and end in mid May, so planning should have started back in January. With a month or two left before prom see if you’re on schedule.
Two Months to go
- You are currently working out and eating a healthy balanced diet.
- You have your prom budget set up and have an action plan to save more $
- Ladies - You have already bought your dress or you have tried on many and have narrowed down your favorites.
- Gentlemen/ladies – You are checking out the transportation options
- Set your dental appointment if you’re getting your teeth whitened
- If you don’t have a date yet, plan to go with friends anyway.
One Month left
- Hire your limo if you haven’t yet.
- Set your appointments for hair/makeup/nails, etc.
- Get the right shoes for your dress and start breaking them in
- Gentlemen - Try on different styles of tuxedos & try to co-ordinate a complementary color with your date’s dress.
- Make your pre-prom dinner reservations or arrangements
- Gentlemen – Find out what flowers your date likes & discuss ordering the corsage & boutonniere together. Besides flower shops, check out the floral departments of your local grocery store.
2-3 Weeks to go
- Get the right lingerie for your dress
- Schedule alterations and take your shoes when being fitted
- Apply sunless tanning lotion or schedule a spray on tan for a healthy glow
- If you’re having a professional photographer set the appointment
1 Week left
- Get your facial done
- Get teeth professionally whitened
- Try your dress and shoes on & check fit
- Confirm your pre-prom dinner reservations or arrangements
Just a few days left
- Help parents by planning enough time for pre-prom photos with friends
- Fax the limo service and give directions to your house
- Buy your film, disposable cameras, & miscellaneous items
- Arrange rides with parents or friends if no limo
Last Day before Prom
- Get all the little stuff done and pick up flowers & refrigerate in its container
- Go to bed early and try to get 8 hours of sleep
- Confirm times with date and friends
PROM Day
- Relax, eat a healthy breakfast & lunch and drink lots of water
- Allow about 3 ½ hours for hair, makeup, & nail appointments at salons. Wear a button down shirt.
- Get ready, have fun, and don’t be pressured into doing things you may regret or that will disappoint your parents.
- Be safe, sober,
- Always wear your seat belt and insist that your friends do too.
